Kylo Ren Oil Painting Star Wars Portrait

This was actually my first ever oil portrait!
I had some previous experience with acrylic painting in the past, but I felt inspired after re-watching Star Wars and noticing the beautiful way they use colourful light and deep shadows as a story telling tool. I’m obsessed with the way the different coloured lightsabers glow on the characters and how vibrant it all looks.
Although it took a long time due to inexperience, I ended up so happy with the results that I never put my brush back down. This is really where I found my love for portraiture.
This is a really unique piece for a star wars fan or collector. I love combining traditional oil portraiture with modern pop culture.
There are so many beautiful and iconic visual moments in this series, I’m sure I wont be able to resist more Star Wars paintings in the future.
